Artemis II Astronauts Exit Earth Orbit for Moon During First Crewed Lunar Flight Since Dec 1972

Four astronauts aboard the NASA Orion spacecraft successfully executed a critical six-minute engine burn to break free from Earth orbit and begin their three-day transit toward the Moon.The Artemis II crew consists of Americans Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Canadian Jeremy Hansen.This milestone marks the first crewed lunar mission in over five decades, following the conclusion of the Apollo program in 1972.
