Philippine authorities launched search operations after the ferry Trisha Kerstin 3 sank off Basilan province early Monday.At least 18 people died and 24 remain missing following the vessel's capsize during its journey from Zamboanga City to Jolo Island.Rescuers saved 317 people from the water while Romel Dua confirmed that an investigation into potential technical failures has begun.
