X Corp., owned by Elon Musk, sued Operation Bluebird this week, saying the startup is brazenly attempting to steal the Twitter trademarks after Bluebird petitioned the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to cancel X’s rights and began taking reservations for handles on a site called Twitter.new.X argues the rebrand to X did not abandon the marks, noting millions still access the service through
twitter.com and asking a court to block Bluebird’s application, stop its use of
Twitter-like branding, and award damages;
