Cliff Richard said he was diagnosed with prostate cancer after an insurance health check carried out before a planned tour of Australia and New Zealand and that he has been treated and is now all-clear, telling interviewers that the cancer was new and had not metastasized. He urged men to get tested and campaigned for a national prostate screening programme, saying he wants to work with Charles III to make checks more accessible and criticised the absence of an established screening programme as "absolutely ridiculous."Born Harry Rodger Webb, Richard rose to fame with The Shadows, signed to EMI and recorded early hits such as "Move It," and he used his recent "Can't Stop Me Now" tour to press for greater awareness, testing and earlier diagnosis.
