Jamieson Greer published a presentation to congressional committees this week saying Canada must change its protected dairy market and its Online Streaming Act if the administration is to recommend renewing the USMCA, following earlier private briefings that warned the pact is not an unqualified success.Greer said the United States will press Canada on dairy, streaming and procurement rules, press Mexico on labour and energy re‑nationalization, and kept the option of withdrawal and bilateral alternatives on the table while leaving unresolved how existing U.S. tariffs on steel, aluminum and autos would be handled.
