The New York Times has filed a lawsuit against the Department of Defense, Pete Hegseth, and Sean Parnell challenging new Pentagon rules that limit media access to military briefings and facilities. The lawsuit argues that these policies violate press freedom by granting Hegseth broad authority to exclude major outlets and requiring journalists to pledge not to report unapproved information.More than 30 news organizations, including The Washington Post, CNN, and Fox News, have refused to comply with the rules, raising concerns over the future independence of Pentagon reporting.
