Steve Cohen is leading Metropolitan Park in Queens as one of the three approved contenders for downstate casino licenses in New York, along with Bally’s Corporation in The Bronx and Resorts World in Queens.The New York Gaming Facility Location Board approved these projects, allowing them to proceed to the final licensing stage with the New York State Gaming Commission for construction and operation approval.Bally’s Corporation and Metropolitan Park plan to open their casinos in 2030, while Resorts World will begin its expansion in 2026, altogether expected to significantly boost the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s budget by $2 billion through 2029.
