George Hooley, a 28-year-old British Special Forces soldier, died in Ukraine following a tragic training accident while observing the testing of a new defensive capability.Hooley, who was part of the Parachute Regiment and Special Forces Support Group, was injured several days ago along with at least four Ukrainian comrades during tests of a British-made MSI-DS Terrahawk anti-aircraft cannon.The Ministry of Defence confirmed the incident, which marks the first UK service member death on duty in Ukraine since February 2022, and both John Healey and Keir Starmer paid tribute to his service.
