Grady Demond Wilson, the actor who rose to fame as Lamont Sanford on the 1970s sitcom ‐Sanford and Son‐, died Friday at age 79 after battling cancer complications.His son Demond Wilson Jr. confirmed the performer passed away at his Palm Springs home following a career that included serving in the military of the USA and later becoming an ordained minister.The performer, who starred alongside Redd Foxx in the groundbreaking NBC series, is survived by his wife Cicely Johnston and their six children.
