United Airlines said Flight 803, a Boeing 777 with 275 passengers and 15 crew, suffered an engine failure shortly after takeoff from Dulles and returned safely after a piece of the engine cowling separated.The Tokyo‑bound plane circled to dump fuel while debris from the detached cowling ignited a small brush fire near the runway that airport crews and MWAA firefighters extinguished; no injuries were reported.The FAA is investigating and Sean Duffy posted on X thanking first responders as United temporarily closed a United Club lounge.
