Statistics Sweden (SCB) says residents in 45 municipalities will pay lower local taxes next year while 16 municipalities will see increases, and the national average municipal tax rate will fall by 3 öre to 32.38 percent. Most increases stem from Region Västerbotten raising its regional rate by 50 öre (0.50 SEK), which affects 15 municipalities, while Region Stockholm is cutting its regional rate by 5 öre (0.05 SEK), easing charges for 26 Stockholm County municipalities even as some municipalities make their own cuts.SCB researcher Peter Gärdqvist highlighted that Lekeberg lowers its tax the most by 1 krona (1.00 SEK) and noted examples of increases and cuts, and SCB said the figures will be used by municipal and regional administrations as they finalise local budgets so residents should check their municipality's final decision.
