The Israeli military announced Tuesday that it had struck Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Lebanon, targeting a training complex for the elite al-Radwan force, launch sites, firing ranges, weapons training areas, and military structures.Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich indicated Israel would "likely" need to intensify operations against the organization, stating, "We will not allow Hezbollah to remain."The IDF asserted these actions violated understandings between Israel and Lebanon and threatened Israel's security, with at least one attacked site near a school in Jbaa sustaining "heavy" damage. These actions occur despite a November 2024 ceasefire agreement, and follow Hezbollah's significant weakening after the September 2024 assassination of its leader, Hassan Nasrallah.
