Niall Horan was placed on vocal rest and could not perform during The Voice Season 28 Holiday Spectacular finale, after which Aiden Ross was crowned the season winner on NBC.The two-night finale featured Christmas-themed performances by the Top Six — Dek of Hearts, Max Chambers, Jazz McKenzie, Aubrey Nicole, Aiden Ross and Ralph Edwards — with guest appearances by Journey, Sofronio Vásquez, XG, Khalid, Riley Green and Zac Brown Band featuring Noah Cyrus, and final rankings were 6th Jazz McKenzie, 5th Max Chambers, 4th Aubrey Nicole, 3rd Dek of Hearts, 2nd Ralph Edwards and 1st Aiden Ross.Ross, a 20-year-old Texas A&M student from College Station who earned the season's first four-chair turn with a cover of Adele's "Love in the Dark," thanked coach Niall Horan, whose third win on the show keeps him undefeated as a coach and who praised Ross throughout the season.
