EBU published an official list confirming that 35 countries will take part in the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna in May 2026, down from 37 participants in Basel, and said only five broadcasters — Spain, the Netherlands, Ireland, Slovenia and Iceland — will boycott because Israel will be allowed to participate. The EBU said it adopted tighter voting rules to strengthen fairness and transparency, including limits on individual voting, reinstating professional juries in the semi-finals with larger and more diverse memberships, safeguards against undue external promotion and improved technical detection of coordinated voting, and Martin Green added that the return of Bulgaria, Romania and Moldova underlines Eurovision’s unifying purpose while Michael Krön said ORF looks forward to welcoming delegations and the contest will hold two semi-finals on 12 May and 14 May with a final on 16 May and an allocation draw in Vienna on 12 January 2026.
