Italy declared a state of emergency for Sicily, Calabria, and Sardinia following widespread destruction caused by Cyclone Harry and a massive four-kilometer landslide in Niscemi.Over 1,000 residents were evacuated from the Sicilian town as a 25-meter precipice swallowed provincial roads and threatened to destroy the historic center.The government allocated an initial €100M for recovery efforts while regional officials estimate the total damage in Sicily at approximately €1.5B.
