Raad Saad, also reported as
Raed Saad, was killed in an Israeli air strike near
Gaza City, with
Israel hailing the assassination as a major blow to
Hamas’s October 7 network. The killing, which
Gaza health officials say involved multiple missiles that struck a vehicle and left several people dead and dozens wounded, has triggered accusations of ceasefire violations from
Hamas and its chief negotiator
Khalil al-Hayya. As
Israel and
Hamas trade blame over the strike, a fragile ceasefire framework and already inadequate humanitarian aid effort are further strained, leaving
Gaza’s largely displaced population exposed to winter storms, collapsing buildings, and growing disease risks in overcrowded camps.
