Nemo, the 26-year-old Swiss winner of the "Eurovision Song Contest" 2024 with the song "The Code," returned their trophy to the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) in protest of Israel's continued participation.The non-binary artist stated that the trophy no longer belonged on their shelf, citing a conflict between the contest's ideals of unity and inclusion and Israel's actions, as the EBU faced criticism for not suspending Israel despite UN-mandated findings.This protest has prompted Iceland, Spain, the Netherlands, Ireland, and Slovenia to announce their boycott of the "Eurovision Song Contest" 2026, which will be held in Vienna.
