Carlisle Rivera received a 15-year prison sentence from a Manhattan federal judge for his involvement in an Iranian-backed plot to assassinate Masih Alinejad.Masih Alinejad testified about the pervasive fear caused by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and urged the court to deliver a maximum sentence to protect citizens on USA soil.Prosecutors also linked the criminal network directed by Tehran to a foiled assassination attempt against Donald Trump before the 2024 election.
