Arabella McCormack, an 11-year-old, was at the center of a civil settlement in which the city and county of San Diego, Pacific Coast Academy and Rock Church agreed to pay $31.5 million on behalf of her two younger sisters.Leticia McCormack, Adella Tom and Stanley Tom face charges including murder, conspiracy, child abuse and torture; they have pleaded not guilty and their criminal case is ongoing.The lawsuit alleged systemic failures by county social workers, teachers and a San Diego Police Department officer, and the settlement will fund the sisters' care for the rest of their lives, the girls' lawyer Craig McClellan said.
