Carl Erik Rinsch was convicted of wire fraud and money laundering for diverting $11 million from Netflix, funds originally allocated for his unfinished sci-fi series "White Horse".The director, known for "47 Ronin", allegedly used the stolen money, part of a larger $44 million investment, to purchase luxury items like five Rolls-Royces and a Ferrari, alongside making failed speculative investments.Rinsch, who was arrested in March and released on a $100,000 bond, will be sentenced in April 2026, after a jury found him guilty of defrauding the streaming giant.
