A felony complaint has been filed charging Nick Reiner with two counts of first-degree murder after his parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner, were found stabbed to death in their Brentwood home. The complaint alleges special-circumstance and weapon-use enhancements under the Penal Code that could expose Reiner to life without parole or, rarely in California, the death penalty, though Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said no final decision on capital punishment has been made.Reiner was arrested hours after the bodies were discovered and is being held without bail while investigators led by the
LAPD Robbery-Homicide Division continue forensic testing and witness interviews; he has retained defense attorney
Alan Jackson and is not yet medically cleared for transport to court.
