Violetta Laiketsion and Ermes Zampa died after their parachutes became entangled during a jump near the airport in Fano, causing a crash from an extremely low altitude that left no time for corrective action.Investigators say the flight had departed from about 4,200 meters with 14 people on board and that the two jumpers’ canopies appear to have tangled with already-open parachutes at very low altitude, one canopy collapsing and pulling the other down.The Prosecutor's Office in Pesaro has opened a negligent homicide inquiry against unknown persons as a procedural step, authorities have seized parachutes, backpacks, Laiketsion’s helmet camera and bystander video, and autopsies at the Fano mortuary are scheduled in the next few days.
