Lidl Leads European Supermarket Climate Rankings as Experts Demand Greater Transparency

Lidl Netherlands and Poland took top spots in a climate study of 27 European retailers while E.Leclerc and Coop Sweden were ranked among the poorest performers.The analysis by Questionmark found that only five chains including Rewe and ICA have successfully cut emissions as the industry struggles to meet Paris Agreement goals.Experts such as Joanna Trewern and Achim Spiller emphasized that greater transparency and a shift toward plant-based products are vital for reducing the environmental impact of the food sector.
