The Lund District Court acquitted Christian Sonesson and five other Staffanstorp politicians of gross misconduct charges after they refused to accept four quota refugees in 2022.Judge Lennart Johansson ruled that the municipal council decision lacked the legal precision required to be considered an exercise of authority against specific individuals.The case originated when a refugee family from Lebanon arrived at Sturup Airport but found no local reception following a proposal by Christian Sonesson to halt the intake.
