Former French Senator Joël Guerriau received a four-year prison sentence, with 18 months firm, after being convicted of drugging Deputy Sandrine Josso with intent to commit sexual assault.The court ordered the 68-year-old politician to pay $5,000 in damages following the 2023 incident where he spiked Josso's champagne with a high dose of MDMA.Guerriau filed an immediate appeal against the ruling, which allows him to remain free until a new trial despite the court rejecting his claims that the drugging was an accident.
